About Fiction v. Nonfiction
Honesty is important to me, and I attempt to adhere to what I believe to be true in all my nonfiction writing. I make the caveat that, as I get older (I was born in 1964), it becomes ever more difficult to pull apart the threads of truth from those of fantasy. My fiction weaves threads of life experiences (mine and others') into the narrative, while the nonfiction (hopefully) contains sometimes fantastical and wonderful elements, much the way these elements seem to me to occur in "real" life. I believe memory to be unreliable, and can refer anyone who disagrees to reliable (!) research documentation that supports this hypothesis. I do promise to make every attempt to clearly designate which of my works should be considered fiction and which should not.
